The Britain’s Got Talent success story Jamie Lee Harrison from Gateshead is returning to the city landmark after his sell-out gig there last year
Fast-rising British singer, songwriter JAMIE LEE HARRISON has announced a brand new show at the prestigious Newcastle Cathedral. Following the success of last years sell out show in this stunning setting, this year is to be bigger.
You might remember Jamie Lee Harrison from Britain’s Got Talent, where he captured the nation with his rendition of R.E.M’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ and Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Piece By Piece’. He went on to the live shows, but Jamie’s passion for music was evident long before that. It has always been his lifeblood, the singer, songwriter and musician has over 1500 gigs around the world, under his belt, and reached number eight in the official UK independent singles chart with his debut single ‘When We Meet’.
Born and raised in Newcastle, Jamie is a popular part of the North East music scene. From years of developing his melodic sound and purposeful song writing, he has steadily grown a following of people passionate for genuine music performed from the heart. His self released track ‘Reflection’ raising awareness on mental health, received huge praise online.

Jamie ended 2018 on a high with his latest release titled ‘Powerful’. A fight song filled with hope, the track amassed well over 200k streams in its first month. The video recently premiered on Celebmix alongside performing at his hometown Arena for Channy’s Unstoppable Concert.
Harrison has collaborated with writers & producers in the UK, Sweden & Berlin who have penned tracks with the likes of Celine Dion, Sia and Ed Sheeran to name a few. 2019 is set to be a breakthrough for the young artist.
Speaking about the new show, Jamie said…
“There was something extra special about performing in the Cathedral last year, the atmosphere was amazing! I had so many people contact me afterwards about how much they enjoyed it and I decided to make it an annual thing. Its different to any other gig I’ve played, everyone was so engaged. Everyone should experience a show in this building at some point, its electric.”
Backed by a full live band and lighting show, Jamie will be performing fan-favourite ‘Powerful’, as well as last year’s ‘Reflection’ and ‘Say You Love Me’ plus his brand new single set for release in the coming weeks.
